Tarleton State University Sets Record Enrollment

Tarleton State University begins fall 2020 with an all-time record enrollment, up 6.16 percent after the first week of classes with 14,096 students. The milestone comes in a year when enrollments at many colleges nationwide are expected to be down because of COVID-19.

All Tarleton State University administrative offices are closed and classes dismissed Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day. Normal campus operating hours resume the next day.

Laurie Sharp Named Dean of Tarleton’s New University College

Dr. Laurie Sharp has been named dean of Tarleton State’s new University College, effective immediately. A network of programs and services, the college works to coordinate meaningful first- and second-year experiences and support student success through degree completion.

Tarleton Anticipates Record Fall Enrollment Despite Pandemic

The hit to fall 2020 enrollment that some predicted may not happen at Tarleton State University. An unofficial tally, with two days before final numbers are in, shows the university up 5 percent from a year ago for a record enrollment topping 14,000.

Tarleton Students Encouraged to Apply for CARES Act Funding

Some $2.4 million in funding is available for fall 2020 to help Tarleton State University students facing significant financial challenges due to COVID-19. It’s part of the $5.4 million the school received in March from the U.S. Department of Education as a segment of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.
