STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University’s master’s degree in management has been named one of the top programs in the country by TFE Times media and academia company.

Tarleton is No. 36 nationally on a list that includes the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University and Northwestern University. The ranking is based on GMAT scores, mean starting salary and bonuses, mean undergraduate GPA, acceptance rate, full-time graduates employed at graduation, and full-time graduates employed three months after graduation.

“Self-design is particularly enticing for students,” said Dr. Triss Ashton, who coordinates the program. “It allows a student to customize a program tailored to career goals.”

Consisting of a core 18 hours, the program offers flexibility via a variety of concentrations, including business analytics, executive communication, recreation and sports, management and leadership, social media strategy, and self-design. Additional concentrations are in development.

“What’s even more impressive about this ranking is that the program doesn’t even officially launch until the fall,” said Dr. Chris Shao, dean of the College of Business.

MS-Management anchors a diverse lineup of programs delivered largely or completely online, giving students the ability to balance work and life commitments that make attending fixed classes difficult.

The College of Business comprises outstanding faculty from across the globe, serving a diverse population of over 2,800 students online and in Stephenville, Fort Worth, Waco and Midlothian, Texas, with flexible learning opportunities. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
