Texan Theatre To Stage Production of Sandberg’s ‘Frankenstein’

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Just in time for Halloween, Tarleton State University’s Texan Theatre will present a stage production of R.N. Sandberg’s “Frankenstein,” based on Mary Shelley’s book of the same name. The show will run from Oct. 29 through Nov. 1 at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.

“Although this play follows Mary Shelley’s story closely, the play feels more like a dream or a nightmare of what Victor Frankenstein experienced during the time of his troubles and aftermath of his creation,” said Daniel Stone, director and assistant professor of theater in the Department of Performing Arts. “The students have been learning the art of melodrama and its style of performance. The language of this play and its situations lends itself nicely to this approach to storytelling. There are a lot of surprises in this production.”
