STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Members of the Tarleton State University family are challenged to “Be the Reason” by donating during the fourth annual Giving Day, beginning at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, April 16.

“More than 13,000 Tarleton students are working to become tomorrow’s professional leaders,” said Development Director Jennifer Hawthorne. “That’s more than 13,000 dreams. By making a Giving Day donation, you can be the reason students’ dreams come true.”

To give online, go to https://givingday.tarleton.edu.

Donations can be made online from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. or in person from 8:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Administration Building. Donations also can be dropped off at Tarleton’s outreach locations in Fort Worth, Midlothian and Waco.

Giving Day 2019 wraps up with a public community celebration from 4 to 5:15 p.m. at Alumni Island, home of John Tarleton’s statue. Everyone is invited. In case of inclement weather, the celebration will move inside to the foyer of the Administration Building.

Last year’s Giving Day brought in more than $395,000, surpassing the 2017 total by more than $170,000. Donations have topped more than three-quarters of a million dollars since the event began three years ago.

“Giving Day is an exciting 24 hours for Tarleton,” Hawthorne said. “It’s a great way to build community and student support through scholarships and programming.”
