STEPHENVILLE, Texas — As part of efforts to accommodate an anticipated increase in enrollment for fall 2019, Tarleton State University later this month will begin demolition of five to seven homes on land it owns to create more parking.

The houses are located in the block bordered by Harbin Drive and West Washington, West Sloan and North St. Felix streets in Stephenville, and are in addition to 11 others that have been demolished.

The university plans to turn the residential properties into hard-surface lots by the start of the fall semester. The new spaces also will provide additional parking near Memorial Stadium for Texan fans and visitors.
