STEPHENVILLE, Texas — “The Future of Work with AI,” will be held Tuesday, April 16 at Tarleton State University’s Dick Smith Library in Stephenville. The in-person and virtual summit begins at noon and is free to the university community and the public.
The United States Copyright Office will present, “Meet the Copyright Office/Copyright Basics.” Through this presentation, attendees will learn the importance of copyright and resources to access for more information.
Also featured will be interactive events from Tarleton State’s new International Artificial Intelligence and Communication Institute (IAICI), including demonstrations, panel discussions, and idea generation. The session begins at 1 p.m. and will include an AI how-to session from IAICI Industry Fellow CareyLyn Ryan.
The demonstration, “Lucidspark, Google Gemini, Pi.AI, Claude, and Canva Magic Studio”, will provide attendees with easy ways to integrate AI into everyday activities at home, work, and in the community.
At 1:45 p.m., IAICI Fellows, Alba Zarate and Amber Taylor will present, “User Experience and Artificial Intelligence (UX and AI)” and at 2:10 p.m. Bill Leaverton and Dr. Jennifer T. Edwards will present “AI and Small Business.”
Humanities and health themed sessions are next. “AI, Ethics, and the Humanities,” presented by Dr. Katrina Hinson from the Tarleton State Writing Center, Chris Ireland from the university’s visual arts and design department and Dr. Karl Aho from the philosophy program, begins at 3:05 p.m. The session will be facilitated by Erath Engaged and Dr. Subi Gandhi.
The 3:30 p.m. session, “Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)”, will be facilitated by IAICI Fellow Mark Mazuera, and Daniel Andreev, co-founder of PsyTech. The presentation will feature a demonstration of PsyTech technology focused on AI and mental health therapy.
The summit will end with a discussion panel of undergraduate, graduate and industry professionals.
Those in attendance will receive a five hour “AI and the Workplace” participation certificate after the event.
