STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Two Tarleton State University staff members presented at the recent Anthology Togetherconference in Orlando, Fla. Higher education and technology professionals from every state and 12 countries gathered to leverage Anthology’s technology and help prepare students to lead a global society.

The presentation, by Dr. Elizabeth Wallace and Lathes Towns, addressed Tarleton’s support of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s 60x30Tx program and the new Texan Trail Transcript, renamed from Engage, a software product of conference sponsor Anthology.

Dr. Wallace, Tarleton Assistant Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, chaired the pilot program, which she said helps prove the value of a Tarleton education.

“Using the Texan Trail Transcript, our students reflect on experiences they have had in college,” she explained. “This document provides potential employers evidence of Tarleton students’ skills in leadership, conflict resolution, networking, problem-solving and recognizing the value of diversity and inclusion.”

Towns, Director of the Lance Zimmerman Department of Student Involvement and Family Relations, said the program meets a need. “It’s not the transitioning that hurts us,” she said, “it’s the standing still and being afraid to advance.”

As Tarleton readies for the fall, students remain the university’s top priority.

“Tarleton decided to invest in creating the Texan Trail Transcript because it is a unique and organized way of tracking co-curricular engagement,” said interim Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Diana Ortega-Feerick. “It enables Tarleton to effectively measure student involvement and empowers students to map out their own learning goals.”

Anthology supports institutions with the largest EdTech ecosystem on a global scale and is used in over 80 countries.

A founding member of The Texas A&M System, Tarleton State is breaking records — in enrollment, research, scholarship, athletics, philanthropy and engagement — while transforming the lives of nearly 17,000 students in Stephenville, Fort Worth, Waco, Bryan and online. True to Tarleton’s values of excellence, integrity and respect, academic programs emphasize real world learning and address regional, state and national needs.
