Tarleton Riders Off to a Strong Start at CNFR

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University rough stock specialists had a good opening weekend at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo.

Bull rider Cullen Telfer posted a first-round 78 for third place in the overall standings. Saddle bronc rider Jake Barnes rang up a 77.5 for fourth.

Steer wrestler Walt Arnold, breakaway ropers Sarah Angelone and Maddy Deerman, and goat tyer Rickie Engesser round out Tarleton’s delegation.

The CNFR continues through this week with the championship finals Saturday.
