Tarleton Percussion Ensemble Concert Set for Nov. 15

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University’s percussion ensemble will present a concert Monday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.

Tickets are $5, or free with a Tarleton ID. The box office opens at 6:30, and seating is general admission.

The concert will debut the music department’s Yamaha YM-5100 five-octave marimba, which will be featured in ensemble director Dr. Ben Charles’ arrangement of Bach’s Goldberg Variation No. 14.

A new work by composer Trevor Smith will spotlight Tyler Lewis and Cameron DeHart from Dr. Andrew Stonerock’s saxophone studio.

Tarleton’s Dr. Brad Baker will play piano on the concert finale, Andy Akiho’s “to wALk Or ruN in wEst harlem.”
