STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University’s Latin Ensemble will highlight trombone Professor Paul Birk and vocalist Robin Flatt in the group’s spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 24, in the auditorium of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.
Seating is general admission. Tickets are $5, or free with a Tarleton ID.
The show will open with the jazz standard “Cantaloupe Island,” followed by “Recordame,” popularized by the Joe Henderson Quintet, the soft samba “Afro Blue” and a jazz assortment including “All of Me,” “It’s Always You” and “El Cuarto De Tula.”
The Latin Ensemble, under the direction of Carlos Averhoff, features Pedro Lopez Retana, Hunter Steele and Brendan Lorenz on trumpet, Michel Ethan on alto sax, Alan Gutierrez on trombone, Melissa Tergerson on piano, Jackson Griffith on bass and Brody Custer on drums.For more information visit https://www.tarleton.edu/band/latin-ensemble/.
