STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Time-honored ceremonies, cultural performances, food, football and futbol highlight this year’s Family Weekend at Tarleton State University, Sept. 16-18.
The first of two ring ceremonies, presented by the Tarleton Alumni Association, starts everything off at 11 a.m. Friday followed by family games at noon and the second ring ceremony at 3.
Evening entertainment includes a parent social at 5 p.m.; the performance of Ballet Folklorico and a film screening at the Tarleton Planetarium, both at 7 p.m.; comic Jaron Myers at 8:30 p.m.; and Casino Night, beginning at 9.
Saturday’s agenda begins with Breakfast with the Hurleys at Trogdon House, a craft fair, music, a movie screening at the planetarium and a family lunch. Child-friendly activities include Create-a-Critter and Texan Kids Corner.
The weekend builds toward Saturday’s tailgate on the Memorial Stadium parking lot followed by the 6 p.m. football clash between the Texans and Eastern New Mexico.
Sunday’s soccer matchup with Abilene Christian concludes the festivities.
