Tarleton Corps of Cadets to fire cannon during Saturday morning ceremony

STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Tarleton State University’s Corps of Cadets will fire a cannon and light several smoke grenades as part of a special ceremony Saturday, Aug. 27.

The ceremony takes place at approximately 8:30 a.m. along Military Drive and inside Heritage Park, with the firing of the cannon at 9 a.m.

The Corps of Cadets will march from Traditions Hall South along Tarleton Street to the Stephenville Historical House Museum and back to campus using the same route, ending at Military Drive before the ceremony commences. As part of the ceremony, cadets will raise the Tarleton Class of 2020’s flag at the Military Memorial.
