STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy has ranked Tarleton State University among the top 10 Texas colleges and universities for its accounting graduates passing the CPA exam.
Excluding Texas’ very large and very small accounting programs, Tarleton ranks ninth with a 52 percent pass rate. Texas Christian University rates No. 1 with a pass rate of 73 percent followed by Austin Community College, at 67 percent.
Keldon Bauer, chair of the Accounting, Finance, and Economics Department, credits the hard work of Tarleton State students.
“Our students recognize the importance of obtaining professional credentials,” he said. “We are proud of our CPA and CMA alumni, and we are also very proud of our graduates who have obtained the Certified Financial Planner designation.”
