STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University President James Hurley last week announced special recognition for students earning a 4.0 GPA for the fall 2019 and/or spring 2020 semesters. The inaugural President’s List acknowledges profound student effort in the face of covid-19 and the unexpected shift to distance learning.

“I am so proud of these students for their determination to make the most of an unsettling situation,” Hurley said. “It’s not easy to get a 4.0 in normal circumstances, but they earned perfect grades while dealing with unprecedented uncertainty.

“Creating this President’s List to recognize their over-the-top commitment is quite simply the Tarleton way.”

Hurley said the President’s List “will be in place forever to honor Tarleton’s highest academic achievers.” Full-time students who earn a 4.0 GPA for either the fall or spring semester of each academic year will be recognized.
