STEPHENVILLE, Texas—The Tarleton State University Alumni Association (TAA) and Tarleton State University invite former students and Texan basketball fans to an Elite Eight kickoff event prior to the team’s NCAA Division II quarterfinal contest against Augustana University, Wednesday, March 23.

Tarleton alumni and basketball fans are welcome to join the TAA and university representatives from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at Embassy Suites Hotel & Convention Center, 7600 John Q. Hammons Drive, in Frisco, Texas. The event takes place in one of the hotel’s ballrooms, conveniently located across the street from Dr Pepper Arena where the Texans tip off at 6 p.m.

Signs at Embassy Suites in Frisco will direct Tarleton fans to the TAA Elite Eight kickoff event. The event includes free appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages for guests, as well as a cash bar. There will be drawings for giveaways, temporary Tarleton spirit tattoos and opportunities to join the university’s alumni association.

The Tarleton Texans, this year’s NCAA South Central Region Champion, along with Head Coach Lonn Reisman, will greet fans ahead of their second-straight Elite Eight appearance in Wednesday’s evening game against the Augustana Vikings.

Fans are encouraged to wear Tarleton Purple and show their support for the Texans throughout the Elite Eight tournament in Frisco, and help pack Dr Pepper Arena for  an exciting game atmosphere during the first-ever NCAA Division II national tournament in Texas.
