Tarleton Academic Advising now offering online appointment system

STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Tarleton State University students have more ways to reach out to an academic advisor thanks to a new online appointment system.

The system is available through the Student Success Collaborative (SSC) at https://tarleton.campus.eab.com.

The transition to online appointment setting comes on the heels of 20,000-plus student walk-in visits to Tarleton’s Academic Advising Center in 2017.

Online appointments for academic advising are available from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and walk-in advising from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Advisors are contacting freshmen and sophomores to offer assistance with the online appointment system and to urge them to get advised as early as possible. An early appointment improves chances of registering for space-limited classes and reduces long lines.

Dr. Teresa Davidian, executive director of the Academic Advising Center, believes that the SSC platform will be a hit with students.

“This online system will help ensure that academic advisors are available when students come to the center,” she said. “We are committed to providing quality student advising, which led our decision to shift our current process to the appointment system. This is part of an overall initiative to expand ways that we can reach out and help students.”

Tarleton’s Academic Advising Center is part of the Division of Student Success and Multicultural Initiatives, under the direction of Assistant Vice President Dr. Jennifer Edwards.

“I am extremely proud of our academic advisors and their leadership team. They positively impact all students and enable them to graduate on time,” Edwards said. “Through the Student Success Collaborative at Tarleton (SSC@Tarleton) software, students can easily schedule advising appointments.”

The Academic Advising Center is located in Room 34 on the lower level of the Barry B. Thompson Student Center. For more information on advising, call 254-968-9746.
