STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University has partnered with TimelyCare, a virtual health and well-being platform for college and university students, to offer Texans 24/7, on-demand free and equitable access to medical care.
The partnership extends the services available through the University Health Center, giving students another option for urgent, nonemergency medical care concerns after regular business hours, during university breaks or while away from campus.
“As Tarleton State’s enrollment continues to grow across both the Stephenville and Fort Worth campuses, expanding access to health care services is essential to meeting the needs of our students,” said Dr. Matthew Maruska, Tarleton State Chief Medical Officer. “While our on-campus medical team remains dedicated to delivering high-quality care, TimelyCare enhances our ability to serve students by providing convenient access to medical care beyond the walls and hours of our clinic. Together, these services help ensure students can receive efficient care while remaining engaged in their academic pursuits and focus on their overall well-being.”
Through TimelyCare, Tarleton State University students can access virtual care from licensed physicians using a smartphone or mobile device. Services are available without traditional insurance requirements and include on-demand and appointment-based medical care, care navigation, a peer support community and digital self-care content.
The partnership with TimelyCare enables Tarleton State to provide a hybrid care model in coordination with on-campus resources. Besides 24/7 access, benefits include reduced wait times and added peace of mind through a secure, URAC-accredited and HIPAA-compliant platform. TimelyCare follows campus-specific protocols for care coordination and followup to help ensure continuity of care, while integrations with leading learning management systems give students additional ways to access support when they need it.

TimelyCare providers are available in all 50 states, allowing students to continue accessing care while away from campus or traveling within the United States. Services are not currently available to students studying abroad.
The virtual service is designed to complement, not replace, the University Health Center. Students with chronic, preexisting or ongoing medical conditions may receive more comprehensive care through the center.
The University Health Center continues to provide in-person services such as physical examinations, diagnostic testing, X-rays, laboratory services, well-woman exams, injury support and ongoing care for chronic conditions.
Students can begin using TimelyCare by downloading the app, signing in with their Tarleton State credentials and completing the required patient information before requesting a visit.
