FORT WORTH, Texas — Tarleton State University-Fort Worth took its annual Giving Day campaign to a new level this afternoon with the opening of a student food pantry.
STEPHENVILLE, Texas — As part of Tarleton State University’s annual Giving Day, the school’s Centennial Committee this morning presented a $1,200 donation toward the Earl Rudder Scholarship to benefit kinesiology students.
During the early 20th century, Daniel B. McMillin moved his family of eight to a farm in Erath County just so his six children could attend college at Tarleton. When his middle daughter, Glynda, graduated from high school in 1930, McMillin went to the bank and borrowed $100 to fund her two years at Tarleton, where she studied home economics.
