STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The Tarleton State University Departments of Performing Arts and Visual Arts and Design will present the annual ULTRA Club Dinner and Show Thursday, Sept. 26 at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Theater. ULTRA Club members are invited for food and drinks at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Wind Ensemble concert “A Renaissance Evening” at 7:30 p.m.
The concert is the first of the year’s student performances and features contemporary music for band inspired by the Renaissance period, including a transcription of the major orchestra work “The Pines of Rome” by Ottorino Respighi, standard of the band repertoire “First Suite in E-flat” by Gustav Holst, “Canzona” by Peter Mennin, “Cathedrals” by Kathryn Salfelder and “Introit” by Fisher Tull.
Included in the evening is the opportunity to view the gallery exhibition “You Threaded in Me,” by Morgan Ford Willingham, a photographic artist from Waco.
