Certifications Offered through the Teacher Education Program

Tarleton State University currently offers the following classroom teaching certificates through the traditional Teacher Education Program. Educator Preparation Program (EPP) admission and course requirements are developed based on standards developed by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC). A student must meet current requirements to obtain certification, which may mean program changes not reflected in the catalog.

BS in Elementary Teacher Education Certificate Plans

BS in Secondary Teacher Education (4-8 and 7-12)

Coursework required for each certification is listed within the Certificate Plan links below. Students obtaining a degree in Secondary Education (“SEED”) are advised through the Department of Curriculum & Instruction and the Advising Center.

Coursework required for each certification is listed within the Certificate Plan links below. Students seeking secondary / all-level certification and not obtaining a SEED degree are advised in the department of their Certification Area.
