STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The 46th annual Charles and Cynthia Rives Masterworks Concert, featuring Tarleton State University’s Singers and Chamber Choir, guest orchestral musicians and the Cross Timbers Civic Chorale is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
This year’s program pairs a radiant holiday work, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “First Nowell,” with selections from Handel’s “Messiah,” including “And the Glory of the Lord,” “For Unto Us a Child Is Born,” and the triumphant “Hallelujah” chorus.
The performance will feature outstanding student soloists, with special guest Dr. Heather Hawk performing the virtuosic “Rejoice Greatly.” The concert will be conducted by Dr. Troy Robertson, Director of Choirs and Department Head of Performing Arts, and Dr. Debbie Seitter, Assistant Professor of Choral Activities.
Tickets are $25 and available at tarleton.evenue.net/event/2526FA/MU1206 or through the Ticket Office at 254-968-9634.
