Tarleton Establishes Endowed Research Professorship

Tarleton State University received more than $590,000 from the estate of Dr. Burnaby Munson to establish an endowed research professorship in chemistry. The Burnaby Munson Endowed Research Professorship will be used to support and enhance chemistry research in the Department of Chemistry, Geosciences, and Physics in the College of Science and Technology.

Tarleton Gallery Hosts Sheffield Photography Exhibition

Tarleton State University’s Department of Fine Arts presents “Going Away From Here,” a photography exhibit by H. Jennings Sheffield.

 

 

 

The show opens Sept. 13 and runs through Oct. 10 at the Clyde H. Wells Gallery of Art in Stephenville.

Tarleton State University Sets Record Enrollment

Tarleton State University begins fall 2020 with an all-time record enrollment, up 6.16 percent after the first week of classes with 14,096 students. The milestone comes in a year when enrollments at many colleges nationwide are expected to be down because of COVID-19.

Tarleton’s Mechanical Engineering Program Earns ABET Accreditation

Tarleton State University’s bachelor’s degree program in mechanical engineering has earned accreditation from the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (www.abet.org), acknowledging that the program meets essential, discipline-defined standards for preparing its students to enter the global workforce.

Laurie Sharp Named Dean of Tarleton’s New University College

Dr. Gabriel Cagwin has been named Vice President for Tarleton State University’s Division of Institutional Advancement. Currently Chief Business Development Officer at Arizona State University, he begins his new duties in September.
