Been there, done that. The Tarleton State University men’s rodeo team is a perennial power. The program has notched three national team titles and is a fixture at the College National Finals Rodeo.

It was a date that changed the world. June 6, 1944, 75 years ago. D-Day. The invasion of American and allied forces on the beaches of Normandy in France designed to stop German aggression in Europe.

Russian-born writer Ayn Rand said, “The question isn’t who’s going to let me, it’s who’s going to stop me.” That could be the credo of the Tarleton State University women’s rodeo team as it prepares for the College National Finals Rodeo, June 9-15, in Casper, Wyo.

Tarleton’s Gordon Center hosts summer reading program

Tarleton State University’s W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas is hosting a summer reading program for kids in preschool and primary grades on first and third Thursdays of June, July and August.

Tarleton team to conduct mitigation project ahead of lake expansion

Professors from Tarleton State University are partnering with the Palo Pinto County Municipal Water District No. 1 to conduct mitigation work for the planned expansion of Lake Palo Pinto known as the Turkey Peak Reservoir project, and explore methods to conserve the riparian habitat along the streams feeding the lake.

Tarleton State University is monitoring fake ads for employment opportunities recently reported to its Office of Information Security Services (ITS). Not all ads — even on reputable job search sites — are valid. Some may be attempts to secure personal information.
