Tarleton State University’s Speaker Symposium Series continues Monday, Nov. 7, when artist Margaret Meehan discusses her Artspace San Antonio exhibition, Decoration Day, an originally commissioned exhibit focused on the hidden stories of female soldiers during the American Civil War.

Tarleton students use new Maker Spot to create orthotic for stroke patient

At Tarleton State University, you can print a prototype for a customized orthotic to help a stroke victim strengthen his hand. That’s what one student did. The recipient—Clarence Young—got the real deal this week.

Following an extensive national search, Dr. Quenton R. Dokken has been selected executive director of the Texas Institute for Applied Environmental Research (TIAER) at Tarleton State University. Dokken begins his new duties Nov. 7.

Tarleton research team expands recorded plant species along Colorado River

As part of a scientific field investigation along the Colorado River, a team of faculty and students from Tarleton State University have expanded the number of recorded plant species and varieties in nearby Mills County by 49.

Tarleton student elected National FFA’s Eastern Region vice president

Ashley Willits, a Tarleton State University agricultural education major from Copenhagen, N.Y., was elected Eastern Region vice president for the National FFA Organization. She will serve on the 2016-17 national FFA officer team along with students from Delaware, Florida, Minnesota, Texas and South Carolina.

Tarleton employee parking access affected by Doc Blanchard closing Tuesday

Tarleton State University will close Doc Blanchard Boulevard and revert access to several faculty/staff parking lots on Tuesday, Oct. 25, as part of the ongoing utility and infrastructure project along Vanderbilt Street.
