Tarleton’s annual MLK Breakfast to feature student as keynote speaker

Tarleton State University’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Breakfast, set Monday, Jan. 20, will feature Nicole Blake Smith, a freshman agricultural service and development major, as keynote speaker. Title of her presentation is “What is your Dream?”

Tarleton plans 3-day inauguration celebration of President James L. Hurley

Dr. James L. Hurley will be installed Feb. 28, 2020, as Tarleton State University’s 16th president during a three-day inauguration celebration that begins with an event for students the evening before and culminates with a gala Feb. 29.

Tarleton holiday break begins Dec. 23

Tarleton’s Gordon Center hosts Cultural Christmas Open House

Tarleton State University’s W.K. Gordon Center for the Industrial History of Texas, located in Thurber, is hosting its first-ever Cultural Christmas Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20.

Annual free holiday show planned at Tarleton planetarium

Tarleton State University planetarium’s most popular holiday show The Mystery of the Christmas Star runs Dec. 5-19, investigating possible dates for the birth of Christ and looking at recorded sightings of significant astronomical events during this timeframe.

The Tarleton State University choral program and Cross Timbers Civic Chorale join the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra to celebrate 40 years of masterworks performances with a holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in the auditorium of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.
