Dr. Rupa Iyer, Vice President of Research, Innovation and Economic Development (RIED), Professor, Executive Director. 

As the inaugural Vice President of RIED, Dr. Iyer leads the planning, implementation, and oversight for a university-wide strategic initiative to expand research capacity, spur innovation, and promote partnerships to stimulate economic development. She has led the creation of the Institute for Biotechnology Research and Innovation, the Institute for Rural Economic Development and Research, and the first EDA-funded University Center for Innovation and  Entrepreneurship in North Central Texas.
