Economic Development Initiatives

APLU Innovation and Economic Prosperity (IEP) Designation: Tarleton State is currently pursuing the prestigious IEP designation from the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU). This institutional initiative involves a comprehensive self-study assessment to measure our impact on regional economic development across three core pillars: Talent, Innovation, and Place. This process ensures our research and educational outcomes are strategically aligned with the needs of North Central Texas.

Enzyme Manufacturing & Biosecurity Facility (Texas A&M-Fort Worth): Located at the Texas A&M Fort Worth campus, this state-of-the-art facility will focus on the large-scale production of microbial enzymes for environmental remediation, agricultural production, chemical defense and biosecurity, and energy extraction.

Tarleton Innovation and Entrepreneurship University Center (TIEUC): As an EDA-designated University Center, TIEUC provides actionable intelligence and specialized support to rural entrepreneurs and small businesses across 24 North Central Texas counties.

Institute for Rural Economic Development and Research: This institute delivers data-driven insights and interactive reporting to address the unique economic challenges and opportunities within our rural communities.
