The mission of the Division of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development (RIED) is to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem within Tarleton to promote excellence in research scholarship, and creative activities that drive innovation and economic development to improve the way we live, learn, and meet societal needs.

Our vision is to be a national leader in research excellence by fostering an environment where innovative scholarship and creative activity thrive within a framework of rigorous compliance and ethical integrity. We are dedicated to minimizing administrative barriers to ensure our faculty and students can focus on high-impact research that addresses complex societal challenges, and catalyzes innovation, student success, community resilience, and economic prosperity across North Central Texas and beyond.
