The mission of the Division of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development (RIED) is to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem within Tarleton to promote excellence in research scholarship, and creative activities that drive innovation and economic development to improve the way we live, learn, and meet societal needs. The Division of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development accomplishes its mission by minimizing administrative burden, promoting innovative convergent research, administering conduct that meets the highest standards of ethical integrity, and ensuring that research activity is compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Tarleton Researcher Leads Collaborative Pollination Project

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture has awarded a team headed by Tarleton State University researcher Dr. Adam Mitchell $749,923 for the project “Partners in Pollination-Capacity Building for Agriculture STEM Research in Pollinator Conservation on Texas Grasslands.”

RIED Research Symposium

The Division of Research, Innovation and Economic Development (RIED) is pleased to announce the upcoming RIED Research Symposium. The symposium will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2023, in the Thompson Student Center Ballrooms from 7:30 AM to 3:00PM.

The upcoming Symposium will be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our PERS award winners’ research efforts in the form of poster presentations led by the students. The symposium’s poster presentation portion is open to participation from other faculty and students with research projects. There will also be an opportunity for eligible PERS faculty recipients to give oral presentations.

RIED recommends individuals follow guidance found on Tarleton’s ROADMAP site and the Centers for Disease Control Guidelines for Large Gatherings outlined below and encourages the wearing of masks at the Research Symposium.

  • RIED recommends individuals follow guidance found on Tarleton’s ROADMAP site and the Centers for Disease Control Guidelines for Large Gatherings outlined below and encourages the wearing of masks at the Research Symposium.
  • If you are not fully vaccinated and aged 2 or older, you consider wearing a mask in indoor public places.
  • People who have a condition or are taking medications that weaken their immune system may not be fully protected even if they are fully vaccinated. They should continue to take all precautions recommended for unvaccinated people, including wearing a well-fitted mask, until advised otherwise by their healthcare provider.
  • If you are fully vaccinated, to maximize protection and prevent possibly spreading COVID-19 to others, it is recommended you wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission.
