Welcome to the Dr. Sam Pack College of Business!

At Tarleton, we believe in the power of business to shape lives, drive economic growth, and strengthen communities—especially those in rural and regional areas. As Dean, I am proud to introduce the Tarleton Rural Business Collective, a bold and timely initiative that reflects our commitment to the economic vitality of rural Texas and beyond.

This Collective brings together faculty expertise, student talent, industry engagement, and community collaboration to deliver practical, impactful solutions for rural business challenges. Whether through student-led consulting projects, research partnerships, entrepreneurial training, or workforce development support, we are embedding real-world engagement into our curriculum while supporting the businesses that form the backbone of our rural economy.

Looking ahead, our goals are clear:

• Expand cross-disciplinary collaboration that unites business, agriculture, health, and public service to address complex rural needs.

• Revise and strengthen our academic portfolio, including a comprehensive review of existing programs and the development of new degrees, professional certifications, and digital badges aligned with the evolving priorities of rural and regional employers.

• Enhance experiential learning through internships, community-based projects, and global perspectives tied to local impact.

• Grow our research capacity to generate actionable insights into rural economic development, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

• Position our students and graduates to be the next generation of leaders in rural business transformation.
