“The Major Field Tests (hereinafter the “Test”) are designed to measure basic knowledge and mastery of specific concepts and principles expected of senior-level undergraduates upon completion of an academic major. They are designed to evaluate a student’s ability to analyze and solve problems, understand relationships, and interpret specific subject content material. The Test is designed to be used by colleges and universities to measure and demonstrate the outcomes of discipline specific programs for accreditation purposes, and to use the data to improve curriculum. It is not designed to be used as the sole criteria for individual assessment.”
