The Texas A&M System takes over downtown Fort Worth in a new high-rise campus that will house 11 universities including Tarleton State University. The project is being overseen by Texas A&M System Associate Vice Chancellor Dr. Kim McCuistion and the campus expected to offer classes in the fall of 2026. Tarleton State will be offering courses on the new campus as well as the second Texas A&M-Fort Worth building, which is still in design. The hopes for the new campus are to provide a community of collaboration and learning. Programs in business, health sciences, law, performance, virtual production and engineering are all in the works to be offered. The vice president of research, innovation and economic development at Tarleton State University, Rupa Iyer will be overseeing Tarleton’s effort to host a Biotechnology Institute at a second Fort Worth building. “It’s anywhere from 8,000 to 10,000 square feet. And the way I look at spaces, it’s an open space to be shared,” said Iyer, regarding the Research and Innovation Building which is still in development. The Chief Operations Officer of Texas A&M- Fort Worth Robert Ahdieh views the system school as a platform for collaboration and will soon have students attending to make his vision come to life.
