
HUMAN SUBJECTS IRB REVIEW BOARD
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Tarleton State University is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of human subjects participating in research conducted or supported by TSU faculty, staff, and students. The IRB operates in accordance with the ethical principles outlined in the Belmont Report and the federal regulations found in 45 CFR 46, also known as “The Common Rule.”
The Office of Research Compliance supports the research community and the IRB by providing guidance, resources, and oversight. The Tarleton State University maintains an approved Federal wide Assurance, affirming its commitment to uphold the highest standards of ethical research involving human participants.

Please be advised that IRBNet will be discontinued on May 1st, 2026. As of March 1, 2026, all IRB protocol submissions have fully transitioned to Cayuse.
IRBNet is an online research compliance system used to manage the submission, review, and approval of human subject’s research protocols. It centralizes all study documents, forms, revisions, and communication, allowing investigators, IRB staff, and committee members to collaborate efficiently throughout the life of a project.
