Annual Tarleton Concert Band Festival Welcomes Area Students

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Seventeen area high school and middle school bands will be on the Tarleton State University campus in Stephenville Feb. 26-27 for the 13th Annual Tarleton Concert Band Festival.

Bands from Stephenville, Maypearl, Hillsboro, Italy, Iraan, Tuscola, Cisco, Keene, Joshua, Godley, Lampasas and Abilene will perform in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium beginning at 9:30 a.m. both days. 

The Tarleton Symphonic Band, under the direction of Dr. Gary Westbrook, and the Tarleton University Band, directed by Dr. David Robinson, will perform Monday at 7:30 p.m. The Tarleton Wind Ensemble, also directed by Dr. Robinson, will conclude the festival Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. concert.

Daily performances of visiting bands are free. Tickets to the evening concerts are $5. Admission is free for festival participants or those with a Tarleton State ID.
