Charge Appeal Process

“Charges may only be appealed by the student it was assigned to. Charges can not be appealed by a parent/guardian, roommate, or another individual beside the assigned student.”

The following reasons will result in a denial:

  • Damages to a bed space or room common area not indicated on the Room Condition Sheet completed upon move-in. Damages can include un-reported maintenance issues i the residential space.
  • Failure to properly check out of a residential space, by signing out of the students Room Condition Sheet and/or not returning all physical keys.
  • Damages of or a failure to return residential property (such as game supplies, temporary access cards, community space equipment – furniture, etc.)
  • Student requests for a buy-out during their housing contract period.
  • Any appeals must be submitted within 14 calendar days of the email notification. Appeals after 14 days will be denied. For an appeal to be considered, there must be substantial and valid evidence that the student is not responsible for the damage charge.
