WELCOME HOME TEXANS!
We are so excited that you will be moving on campus in a few short weeks and are here to provide you with valuable information prior to your move-in time! Please read the email you will be receiving in its entirety to ensure you receive all important information to have a successful start to your year.
Prior to coming to campus, we ask that you familiarize yourself with our Housing Policies. It is a community effort to maintain an environment where all are welcome, safe, and have the opportunity to grow.
FALL 2026 TEXAN TRANSFER AND CONTINUING STUDENTS MOVE IN
AUGUST 17 – 18, 2026
| Building | Time |
| All Halls | 8:00 am – 12:00 pm 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm |
Continuing Student Move-In
As a continuing student, you will proceed directly to your residence hall for check-in August 17-18 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. You will park in the temporary parking spaces that are set up for you near the hall to be able to check in. Report to your hall front desk or look for the check-in tent to receive your move-in folder with your room condition sheet and other important information.
You will then move your car to a permanent parking space that is open to be able to start unloading your own items. We will have moving carts available to check out for an hour, these are limited and are first come, first serve. Once in your room and before unpacking, it is vital that you accurately complete your Room Condition Sheet and return it to your residence hall office within 24 hours of your move-in. This important document indicates the current state of your room and helps our team accurately assess damages upon move-out. Students are encouraged to be as detailed as possible about the condition of their space and to take photos of their room before unpacking.
It is highly encouraged for each vehicle group to pack snacks and a small ice chest with water to stay hydrated while moving into your residence hall. Texas can experience high heats during this time, and it is important for everyone to drink plenty of water the days leading up to and at move-in.
Due to the heat and residential policies, Residence Life asks that you do not bring any animals with you. Only Service Animals and approved Emotional Support Animals are allowed within the Residence Halls. While approved ESAs are allowed, it is encouraged that students bring their animals to campus after moving-in, once you are settled in your room, to avoid unnecessary stress on the animal. Students who had an approved ESA for Fall 2025-Spring 2026 will need to ensure their ESA approval is renewed prior to the animal coming to campus.
Parking
Parking Services provides specific permits for each type of student (Residential or Commuter), faculty/staff, and visitors to negate the issuing of tickets and communicate where to park while on campus. Please check out the rules and regulations before parking on campus. Students and guests should refrain from parking in surrounding businesses or school campuses; it is at the discretion of these private spaces to relocate vehicles at the owner’s expense.
At no time during move-in or throughout the year should you park in a fire lane, handicap space (without an approved permit), in a striped parking pathway, or a 24-Hour Reserved space. At each residence hall there is a 24-Hour Reserved parking space for Residence Life staff to respond to emergencies; at no time should unauthorized vehicles park in these spaces. Vehicles that park in areas they are not approved to occupy are subject to a parking citation and/or relocation at the owner’s expense.
On the first day, be sure to connect with your Residential Leader as they will be a great resource to get you connected to campus and support your needs while living in a residential facility. Each hall will have a mandatory hall meeting that will provide important information with regard to living on campus.
