80% Buyout Process

Want to Cancel Your Housing Contract?

If a student remains a registered student of Tarleton State University, but wants to move off campus, student can buyout of the housing contract by paying 80% of what’s left on your room cost.

How to Do It:

  1. Email us to request the 80% buyout. Only you (the student) can make the request.
  2. Move out completely:
    • Remove all belongings
    • Turn in your keys
    • Sign the Room Condition Sheet (RCS)

What You’ll Be Charged:

  • You’ll pay 80% of the cost for each semester left on your contract.
  • Charges will show up in your Texan Bill Pay account.

Example:

Let’s say your room costs $3,000 per semester, and you want to cancel after the fall semester:

  • You still owe for spring semester.
  • 80% of $3,000 = $2,400
  • So, you’ll be charged $2,400 for the spring semester.
