STEP 2: ACCESS THE ONLINE PORTAL
Devices Not Connected to the Internet:
When connecting for the first time, using your LTE phone network, go to your wireless settings and connect to “MyResNet Start Here”. This will automatically take you to the online portal (https://tarleton.hed.boldyn.com).
Devices Already Connected to the Internet:
Scan the QR code located on the support posters and social media or go to https://tarleton.hed.boldyn.com to sign into the portal.
STEP 3: SIGN IN
Once you are on the portal:
- Sign in using your Tarleton State University email and password
- The Microsoft authentication message will pop up to authenticate
- Accept the terms and complete your profile.
- Once the account has been created, you will see a pop-up with your Wi-Fi passkey (PSK). Make note of the passkey as you will need it to connect.
Please note: To change your Wi-Fi password, click “show Wi-Fi password” under the “Add Devices” tab. This is a private password and should not be shared.
STEP 4: CONNECT TO THE NETWORK
- Navigate to the wireless settings on each device.
- Connect to MyResNet-5G (Only connect to MyResNet-2G if you cannot see MyResNet-5G)
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted to connect.
- Enable the “auto-join” feature.
HELPFUL TIPS:
- Add All Devices to Portal – All devices must be registered in the portal
- MyResNet-5G: Connect to MyResNet-5G for the fastest Wi-Fi connection. This should be your default setting.
- Laptop Drivers – Outdated drivers, specifically Intel drivers, could negatively affect your connection or speed. Update your drivers to ensure the best performance.
- Wireless Printers – Wireless printers cause wireless interference. Boldyn recommends that wireless printers be added to your additional device list by MAC address in your portal, or connected directly via a USB printer cable. Once completed, be sure to turn off any wireless signal/radio broadcasting from your printer.
