Director of Bands
As Tarleton’s 20th Director of Bands, I’m pleased to welcome you to the Tarleton Bands’ online home! Since its founding in 1919 with only nine members, our band program remains one of the most visible and integral aspects of university life on the Tarleton campus. Today, nearly two hundred students participate in at least one of more than twenty musical organizations we sponsor each year.
Our ensembles offer over 100 performances annually in service to our university community, including performances by our Division I Athletic Bands, our three Concert Bands, our nationally renowned Jazz Studies area, and our Chamber Ensembles for instruments of all types.
While all of our ensembles are open to students of all majors, we pride ourselves on providing quality educational and leadership opportunities for those seeking bachelor’s degrees in music education, music performance, jazz studies, and music business.
