Winter Break 2025 Campus Close-Down: Student Guidelines

1. Important Dates

  • Residence Halls Close: Thursday, December 11, 2025 by 10:00 a.m.
  • Residence Halls Reopen: January 10 & 11, 2026
  • Request for Late Stay: To request a late stay, residents must email their Hall Director by December 5th, 2025. Late stays are for residents staying past December 11th at 10 AM, but leaving before December 15th at 10 AM.

2. Before You Leave – Review the closedown form on front door of room

Complete checklist for students:

  • Clean Your Room & Bathroom: Remove trash, perishable food disposed, and personal items.
  • Unplug Electronics: Except approved appliances (e.g., mini-fridge if allowed).
  • Close Windows & Curtains: For energy efficiency and security. Blinds are closed
  • Set Thermostat: 70 degrees and heat setting
  • Lock Doors: Ensure all doors and windows are locked.
  • Residents: Do NOT remove all belongings out of space UNLESS student is not registered and not returning for Spring 2026.

3. Mail & Packages

  • Forward mail if needed.
  • Pick up packages before departure.

4. Safety & Security

  • Report maintenance issues before leaving.
  • Do not leave valuables behind.

5. Travel Tips

  • Plan transportation early.
  • Check weather conditions.
