University Band

The University Band is Tarleton’s third concert band, meeting only in the spring. It is mostly populated by non-music majors enrolled in marching band in the fall looking to continue playing in a ensemble in the spring and also music majors seeking playing experience on a secondary instrument.

The ensemble performs a wide array of music ranging from the standards of the band repertoire to newly composed works. The University Band is frequently guest conducted by senior music education majors, who work with the primary conductor to gain practical experience before being the student teaching process.

University Band membership is open to all Tarleton students, regardless of major field of study. Prior band experience is expected.
