Benjamin Raviotta is a respected horn artist and instructor, with over 25 years dedicated to performance and teaching. He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Horn at Tarleton State University, where he teaches applied horn, chamber music, and fine arts appreciation. From 2019 to 2025, he was Adjunct Professor of Horn at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and he has taught extensively in North Texas through a long-standing private studio serving multiple school districts.

Dr. Raviotta performs regularly with orchestras across Texas, including the San Angelo Symphony (third horn since 2006), Las Colinas Symphony, Irving Symphony, and the Longview Symphony. His performance background includes classical repertoire, chamber music, and commercial productions, with appearances alongside artists such as Ben Folds, Diana Ross, Wyclef Jean, and Amy Grant.

He has been featured as a soloist with the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble, performing Zirk by Scott Boerma, and is an active chamber musician, performing with ensembles such as Triplicity Brass, Tarnished Brass Quintet, and Robson Ranch Brass Quintet.

Dr. Raviotta’s research centers on pedagogical methods for teaching students who experience challenges related to neurodevelopmental disorders. His doctoral dissertation explored instructional strategies for students with ADHD and dyslexia in school music programs. He has published on the topic in The Horn Call and presented at conferences including the ABLE Assembly hosted by Berklee College of Music.

He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Horn Performance from the University of North Texas, a Master of Music from Louisiana State University, and a Bachelor of Music from Virginia Commonwealth University. His principal teachers include William Scharnberg, Seth Orgel, and Alan Paterson.

Dr. Raviotta is a member of the International Horn Society, Texas Music Educators Association, and Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society.
