Rooms and Spaces

The Dick Smith Library provides various spaces to meet your study and meeting needs. These areas include quiet spaces, first-come, first-served study rooms, collaboration tables, and reservable study and meeting rooms. In addition to the spaces highlighted below, the library provides seating, study tables, and desktop computers throughout the library.

You can now reserve many library spaces yourself using our online Room Reservation System.

Group Study Rooms

Rooms 225 – 231 & 233 – 239 (First come, first served)

  • Each room seats up to 6 people

Rooms A to E – (First come, first served)

  • Equipped with computer and display
  • Seats up to 4 people
  • Located near the Upper Level Quiet Zone

Presentation Practice Room

  • Located on the Main Level, room 155.
  • Seats up to 6 people
  • Equipped with presenter computer station, projector, and Smartboard.

Multi-purpose Meeting Room

  • Seats up to 46 people with tables or 70 people without tables
  • Equipped with presenter computer station, projector, SmartBoard, speakers, camera, and TV

Library Training Center

  • Hands-on computer access
  • Seats up to 33 people
  • Equipped with presenter computer station, SmartBoard, projector, camera, speakers, phone, and 33 desktop computers, including one ADA station

Individual Study Rooms

  • Located on the Upper Level
  • All first come, first served

Quiet Zone

  • Located in the back of the Upper Level
  • Patrons are asked to remain quiet and refrain from talking while in the Quiet Zone

Library Learning Commons

  • Collaborative space located on the Main Level
  • Includes desktop computers, study tables and chairs, laptop vending machine, collaboration tables, access to assistance from library staff and learning commons partners

Collaboration Tables & Rooms

Collaboration Tables – (First come, first served)

  • Located on the Main and Lower Levels
  • First come, first served
  • Tables are equipped with an on-board computer and cables for connecting your device to the display
  • Cable adaptors/dongles are available for checkout from the Circulation Desk

Collaboration Rooms 159 & 160 – (Reservable)

  • These two (2) collaboration rooms are next to the Main Level printing center.
  • Seats up to 5 people
  • Equipped with a large TV screen, on-board computer, HDMI cables to allow for laptop viewing on the larger screen, and glare-resistant white boards
  • Reserved for a maximum of four (4) hours at a time
  • During the week of finals for the fall and spring semesters, these rooms will not be available for reserve and will operate on a first come, first served basis
