The Rickett Library and Learning Commons are on the first floor of Tarleton State University – Fort Worth, located at 10850 Texan Rider Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76036.

Services & Resources

In the Rickett Library, patrons can receive individual library research guidance, schedule one-on-one library help sessions, and find a quieter study area. To supplement Tarleton Libraries’ robust online book and periodical offerings, Rickett Library provides print materials that have been selected specifically to support students’ academic needs in Fort Worth. In addition, library materials can be requested for delivery to the Rickett Library from Tarleton’s Dick Smith Library on the Stephenville campus.

The library offers 20 student-use computer workstations, eight individual study loungers/pods, and comfortable seating areas. Five study rooms, which can seat up to 6 people, are available on a first come, first served basis. The Tutoring and Learning Center offers tutoring for Writing, Accounting, and Spanish within the library. Help with technical issues is available at the IT Services desk located at the back of the library. Students also have access to a KIC scanner and both black & white and color printers.

Library instruction sessions are available at Rickett Library for day, evening, or weekend classes. Instruction sessions are also available for hybrid and online courses. For more information see Research and Learning.

Collections

The Rickett Library collection includes print materials that support students’ academic needs. These collections are enhanced by Tarleton Libraries’ e-book offerings which are available through the online catalog. In addition, materials in the Dick Smith Library on Tarleton’s Stephenville campus can be requested and delivered to the Tarleton’s Fort Worth location, Rickett Library, room 131, of the Central Administrative Building.

The library’s resources Includes general and reference materials and a children’s literature collection. All the collections contain materials covering a wide range of subject areas that include accounting, business, communications, counseling, criminal justice, education, finance, psychology, public administration, and social work. The reference collection is contained within the General collection. Patrons will also find reference books such as APA manuals, dictionaries, thesauri, statistics primers, and writing guides. A variety of periodicals that include both academic and casual reading resources are available.
