Tarleton State Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society Named National Student Chapter of the Year

The Tarleton State Student Chapter of The Wildlife Society has been selected from 155 student chapters nationwide as The Wildlife Society’s Student Chapter of the Year.

The Wildlife Society (TWS) is an international, nonprofit, scientific and educational organization comprised of nearly 11,000 members from 60 countries. TWS represents professionals and students dedicated to the sustainable management of wildlife resources and their habitats.

This national recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of the Society’s student members, officers, and advisor, Dr. Heather Matthewson. Over the past year, the chapter has continued to grow through hands-on conservation projects, professional development opportunities, outreach events, and active involvement in both the Tarleton State and surrounding local communities.

The Society will officially receive the award in October at the National Wildlife Society Conference in Edmonton, Canada.

The Society has expressed their gratitude for the recognition and said they will continue their commitment to advancement in wildlife conservation, education and community engagement.
