What is your current job? What does your job entail?

I am the Marketing Coordinator and Photographer for Twisted X Global Brands. My job entails a lot of different things, but the majority of what I do is run the Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok for Twisted X, Black Star Boots, and Twisted X Work and oversee our ambassadors, influencers, and athletes. I am also our in-house photographer.

Why did you choose Tarleton?

I choose Tarleton because it was close to home and my cousin and some upperclassmen I looked up to were going there at the time. I also knew that I wanted to do something in Agriculture, but at the time I wasn’t sure what that was. I toured Tarleton’s campus 2 times and didn’t even apply to any other school. I knew right off the bat it was where I wanted to go. I don’t remember exactly when I decided I wanted to go to Tarleton, but that was just always the plan when I started thinking of colleges. Tarleton was also an affordable choice and coming from a small school I knew I wanted to go to a college that had that same feel.

How were you involved on campus?

I was very involved on campus during my time at Tarleton. I was a member of the Tarleton Transition Mentors. I was the Vice President of Administration and VP of Marketing for the sorority Alpha Gamma Delta. I was the VP of Public Relations for Panhellenic. I was a Texan Rep for a brief time. I was a member of the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow. I was a Digital Marketing student intern in the Tarleton Marketing Department. I was a part of honor societies like NCLS and Alpha Zeta, as well as a part of the Honors College.

What was most impactful, in your time at Tarleton, in preparing you to do what you’re doing now?

I would say what was most impactful in my time at Tarleton to prepare me for what I am doing now is the opportunities Tarleton gave me and the internships I did. Also, Ag Comm really prepares you to have a wide variety of knowledge in a lot of different areas in Communications as well as hands on experience. My internships also gave me a real-world experience and I learned a lot from my mentors that I had. My experience as VP of Marketing for AGD and PR for Panhellenic gave me the opportunity to learn and do what I wanted do as a career. It truly helped solidify my choice in careers. I did a mock interview in my Block semester at Tarleton and the person who interviewed me is the person who recommended me to Twisted X and is how I got the job I have today.

What would you tell future students about Tarleton & why they should come to school here?

Tarleton Texans know how to get things done and that is because of the preparation, opportunities, and resources that Tarleton has to offer. I believe that Tarleton has a place for everyone to feel at home and if there aren’t any organizations that fit what you are looking for, start one! It has endless resources and opportunities for you to succeed in the real world as long as you apply yourself. You will 100% get out of Tarleton what you put into it. Get involved and push yourself to be successful and prepare for the real world! Tarleton has so many resources from academic advising to career counseling and resume clinics and everything in between that will help prepare you!

The teachers want you to succeed and want to have a relationship with you. My teachers knew me by name and that is something unique.

Tarleton also has undeniable school spirit and traditions that is truly amazing to see and dorms that are unlike any other schools in my opinion. No matter how far you travel to attend Tarleton, it will quickly feel like home. I cherish my time at Tarleton like no other and know that I would not be where I am today without having gone there. Not only does the school want to help you succeed, but so do Alumni!
