Now that you have been accepted to Tarleton State University, you’re one step closer to officially joining our family, experiencing our unique spirit and traditions, and immersing yourself in our exceptional educational opportunities.
Before we can officially welcome you as part of the Tarleton family, there are a few things you need to complete. The Texan Connect will guide you through your next steps and will keep you on track to become a Texan and help you make a smooth transition between now and your first day of classes. These steps can vary for freshmen and transfer students. They will also vary by campus locations.
UID Lookup
To access your myGateway account, login with your UID and PIN. If you have forgotten your UID, you may look it up. Once you have logged in to myGateway, you can select the Student tab to find information on your registration, financial aid status and scholarship status.
Apply for Scholarships and Financial Aid
Scholarships are awarded for academic ability and achievement, demonstrated leadership, ability to perform (music, band, etc.), extracurricular activities, financial need, and other criteria as defined by specific scholarship programs.
Financial Aid includes grants and loans for students offered on the basis financial need. There are many opportunities available to fund your tuition, fees and living expenses.
Housing
Residential Living & Learning seeks to foster authentic communities that engage and empower residents to value learning, citizenship and diversity through faculty and peer engagement.
Residing on-campus creates an environment where students are most successful. Submit your Housing Application and sign up for meal plans.
Parking
Students who wish to park their vehicle at the Stephenville or Fort Worth campus must obtain and display a parking permit.
After You Are Admitted
Activate your Tarleton Email and Claim your Network ID
Once you are admitted, you can then claim your network ID and set-up your Tarleton email account. All Tarleton communication will be sent to your Tarleton email account. It is very important for you to check your email on a regular basis.

Submit Your Transcript(s) and Test Scores

All official transcripts will need to have a school signature and school seal. Transcripts can be sent by mail in a sealed envelope, or you can send an electronic copy via one of the following programs:
- Parchment/Naviance
- TREX (Texas Only)
- Escript
- Scribbles
Dual-credit/College Transfer Transcript(s)
In order to receive college credit for dual-credit courses and/or other college/university courses, you must submit an official college/university transcript. We cannot post dual-credit from a high school transcript. Please complete a request at all colleges and/or universities you attended.
The student is responsible for sending official transcripts from every institution they have attended. Most transcripts can be sent electronically from previous institutions, through the following:

- Parchment
- National Clearinghouse

Submit AP Test Scores
High school graduates must have Official AP scores sent from College Board for evaluation. To obtain your scores, visit the College Board. Please have scores mailed to:

Submit TSI Scores
The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) is a two-part exam that assesses your academic readiness in math, reading, and writing. Your scores will be used to place you in the correct courses to set you up for college success. Students are required to take the TSI Assessment prior to beginning the first semester of classes unless qualified for an exemption.
Submit a CLEP Transcript
If you are a civilian test-taker, find information online about how to obtain CLEP transcripts, or call 800-257-9558 (8 a.m.-6 p.m., ET, Monday-Friday) if ordering with a credit card (American Express, MasterCard or Visa only).
If you are a military service member or were in the military when you tested, find more information online about CLEP for Military or call 877-471-9860 (toll-free) or 651-603-3012 to order a military transcript.
Submit IBO Transcript
Those who complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma and meet the State of Texas requirements will be granted credit for a minimum of 24 semester hours. Order an official International Baccalaureate transcript.
