
Dallas County Promise
Tarleton State University partners with Dallas County Promise to make college more affordable for eligible Dallas County high school graduates.
This last-dollar tuition grant covers tuition and required fees after other scholarships and financial aid are applied.
Who Can Apply
- Graduates of a participating Dallas County high school
- Must attend the high school for the entire senior year
- Graduate in the current school year
- Be admitted to Tarleton State in the top 50% of your class (or meet GPA equivalent if your school doesn’t rank)
- Enroll full-time at Tarleton State in the fall immediately after graduation
- Be a U.S. citizen and a Texas resident for tuition purposes
- Family Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $85,000 or less
Important Deadlines (Fall 2026 Entry)
- Feb 5, 2026 – Submit the Promise Path Form
- Mar 1, 2026 – Apply for admission & complete FAFSA/TASFA
- Aug 5, 2026 – Register for Fall 2026 classes
Renewal Requirements
To keep your Promise funding, you must:
- Enroll in and earn at least 12 credit hours each semester
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
- Keep family AGI at or below $85,000
- Complete your bachelor’s degree within 4 years
