Notice: Changes to Custom HTML Blocks and Third-Party Integrations

In an effort to maintain digital accessibility and ensure a consistent user experience, the Web Operations team is rolling out an update to how custom HTML and third-party integrations are managed on the website.

At a high level, Tarleton State University, like all public universities, is required to comply with federal digital accessibility regulations under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These regulations adopt WCAG 2.1 Level AA as the technical standard. This requirement applies not only to institutional web content but also to any third-party vendor tools embedded on our site.

What this means for your site: > To ensure we meet these federal standards, we are moving away from unvetted custom HTML blocks. Existing custom HTML blocks will appear as “Locked” within the editor. While the content will still render on the live site for now, you will no longer be able to edit these blocks directly or add new ones.

We realize these may play a major role in your website, and we want to make sure your content remains impactful. We are happy to work with you to come up with an alternative solution—such as native blocks or accessible integration methods—that keeps your content front and center while remaining fully compliant.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and We’d be more than happy to discuss further.
