Texan Services

Texan Services here at Tarleton State University offers a variety of services for our students, from navigating your financial aid and scholarships to managing your class schedule. Texan Services is located in the Tarleton Center and comprise of the offices of Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Scholarships, Veteran Services, and TRIO programs. We look forward to serving and supporting you on your academic journey. There are a number of ways that you can access our services. Food Resources

There are several layers of food resourcing available in and around your community, as well as campus resources available for your use. In order to explore food resources near you, or to request access to a campus-based pantry, please visit the Tarleton Purple Pantry.

Transportation Resources

Academic Materials

Are you experiencing difficulty accessing the materials necessary to complete class? If seeking assistance for textbooks or ways to reduce your course material costs, please explore  these resources:

Book Loans are available at the beginning of each academic semesters for students who may need additional assistance in purchasing their textbooks. You may only use this for the purchase of books and supplies at the Tarleton Campus Store located in Stephenville and you must have a Texan Card.

Tarleton offers some course that utilize open educational resources (free) to help reduce student out-of-pocket costs for textbooks and learning materials. As you explore your courses, you may want to find classes that are using freely available course materials. A calculator, a clicker, art materials, or other academic items can easily add up and push us beyond our budgetary abilities. We may be able to assist you. Learn more by completing our Request Resourcing Outreach form and provided detailed information about your questions or needs. We'll connect to learn more about your academic material needs and work to connect you to related resources.

Non-Academic Resources

We know life does not stop in the classroom. You may be required to have a uniform for work or need a jacket for your child as the weather turns cold. We may be able to assist you. Learn more by completing our Request Resourcing Outreach form and provided detailed information about your questions or needs as we work to connect you with resources to help your out-of-classroom needs disappear from your "worries" list.

Financial Wellbeing Resources

Financial wellbeing involves many resources, explore some of these options:

Through the Texan Smart Financial Center students can attend workshops aimed at improving financial practices and one-on-one financial coaching to aid in the development of individualized personal financial wellness. Our goal is to provide Tarleton students with support and guidance on items pertinent to their financial well-being that will have lasting effects past graduation.  

Consider visiting our Career Services team for assistance with resumes, informative workshops, job fairs, and to help you connect to your career potential.

In addition, please consider visiting with the experts in our Tarleton’s Financial Aid office. Learn about your financial aid options and educate yourself about the types of aid, eligibility, and educational funding.

Tarleton may be able to assist as unanticipated emergencies come up. If you are facing an emergency and would like to explore resourcing, please complete our Request Resource Outreach form. Please incorporate the appropriate information so we best understand your situation. We will follow up with a phone call, so please share your number.

Cultural Wellbeing Resources

It is important to feel supported and to know that the Tarleton community values diversity. One way to learn more about developing relationships with people of different backgrounds, lifestyles, experiences, genders, ethnicities, abilities, and ages is to connect to The Joe R. and Dr. Teresa Lozano Long Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and International Programs. They promote inclusion and pursues equity for the whole Tarleton community. Through advocacy, training, and affirmation, they support underrepresented populations on campus and provide services to our international students from over 28 countries.

Emotional Wellbeing

Tarleton Student Counseling Services (SCS) offers confidential counseling, clinical assessment and referrals, crisis management, psychiatric services, academic skills counseling, and psychoeducational programming for a diverse student population. We provide consultation services to the Tarleton community at the Stephenville campus and the learning centers and are educators and advocates that promote health and wellness.

Physical Wellbeing

  • Student Health Services delivers quality medical care in a cost-effective manner in treating acute illnesses or injuries, evaluating and treating acute exacerbation of chronic illnesses, and referral to appropriate medical care for those medical problems that lie beyond the scope of treatment in the Student Health Services' office.
  • Campus Recreation: You don’t have to be on campus physically to enjoy our resources – virtual opportunities are available. Our mission is to enhance the Tarleton experience through recreational programs, services, and facilities that engage our students in lifelong wellbeing, leadership development, and community building.
